Anderson Zaks announces new chip and pin service for pharmacies

Low cost card processing service now available to pharmacies throughout UK.

Anderson Zaks, a leading independent payment solution provider that supplies innovative, integrated transaction processing software, has launched its new Chip and PIN service to independent pharmacies. The first EPOS solution provider to deploy the solution is CSY Retail Systems. Pharmacies who are already using the solution claim savings of at least £50 per month in terminal, telecoms and transaction costs.

According to Ross Pierrepont, CEO at CSY; “Customers are seeing significant savings from using this system. We already have several hundred independent pharmacies signed up and we are bringing on new ones each month. In conjunction with Anderson Zaks we know that we have approvals from all UK acquiring banks to offer this service.’

This new ‘integrated’ solution for card acceptance removes the need to rent merchant payment terminals from an ‘acquiring bank’ and dedicated phone lines. The pharmacist’s EPOS system is integrated to incorporate a PIN pad and the direct communication to the card processor is via broadband rather than via PSTN or ISDN lines.

Iain High, Managing Director at Anderson Zaks, said, “We are delighted to be able to offer NPA members this service and with more than 50% of turnover now coming from card payments, anything that can reduce the cost of handling cards is welcome.”

A spokesperson from RBS WorldPay commented; “We are delighted that NPA members can be offered a lower cost, secure PCI-DSS approved method of processing their credit card transactions with our bank.”
